Heat changes how a bearing behaves. Steel expands, standard grease breaks down and seals harden, so a bearing that works well in a cool shed can fail quickly beside a furnace. High temperature bearings use materials, clearances and lubricants chosen for the heat.
The right choice depends on the actual temperature, the speed and the load. Options include bearings with extra internal clearance, high temperature lubricants or solid lubricants, special materials and ceramic or hybrid designs.

Why do normal bearings fail in heat?
Standard grease thins out and burns off, seals harden and crack, and the metal expands so that the internal clearance disappears. Together these lead to quick wear or seizure.
What do I need to tell you to get a quote?
The operating temperature, the bearing size, the speed and the application. With those we can suggest suitable options.
Do high temperature bearings need lubrication?
It depends on the design. Some use high temperature grease, some use solid lubricants. We will tell you what the bearing needs.
Can you supply replacements for existing kiln or oven bearings?
Yes. Send the markings or the size of the old bearing and the temperature it runs at.
