Bushings are the simplest bearing there is: a sleeve that lets a shaft or pin turn or slide. We supply sleeve, flanged and self lubricating bushings, and thrust washers, with DU bushings as a speciality.

Bushings provide a low-friction interface between moving components without the rolling elements used in conventional bearings. Options include flanged and self-lubricating designs for applications where maintenance needs to stay minimal.

A bushing has no rolling parts. Instead the shaft slides against a low friction surface. This makes bushings compact, quiet and tolerant of dirt, and it lets them carry heavy loads at low speed in very little space.
Self lubricating bushings have a running layer that reduces friction without oil or grease, which suits joints that are hard to reach. Our featured line is the DU bushing, a steel backed self lubricating bushing.

What is the difference between a bushing and a bearing?
A rolling bearing uses balls or rollers. A bushing is a plain sleeve with no rolling parts. Bushings are simpler and more compact, and suit slower or swinging movement.
When should I use a self lubricating bushing?
Use one where regular greasing is difficult, where grease would contaminate the product, or where you want to reduce maintenance.
What do I measure to order a bushing?
The inside diameter, outside diameter and length. For a flanged bushing also the flange diameter and thickness.
